Simple Style for Countertops: Interior Design Inspiration
Small details can make a big difference!
Picked your perfect slab/material for your countertop? Fantastic! Don’t neglect the opportunity to select your edge detail! This is a small but often forgotten detail - mostly because people don’t know they have options. The most common options (and often the least expensive) are the full bullnose and the eased edge.
The full bullnose edge is used in a more traditional setting, while the pencil edge tends to be preferred in most transitional and contemporary settings. Another popular (but slightly more expensive) edge detail seen in traditional kitchens and baths is the Ogee Edge, which has a soft ‘swoop’ to it. It’s elegant and classy and a detail that’s being revived in vintage inspired spaces!
I think this Beveled Edge will gain popularity in transitional or contemporary kitchens and baths as it gives just a little added dimension and interest.
What do you think? I bet you’ll be noticing more countertop edges now! What do you see the most of? Tell me your thoughts or questions in the comments below!
