From Cramped Quarters to Simple Sophistication: A Kitchen & Bath Remodel
Get inspired by this updated kitchen and bath space!
It was tough for more than one person to cook in this kitchen, let alone entertain friends - which was exactly what prompted the remodel. The homeowners wanted a larger, more functional layout with plenty of storage and natural light. They came to the table with great ideas about how this could be achieved, and we worked together to implement them.
By simply removing the peninsula base and wall cabinets and moving the appliances around, we created a whole new flow for the kitchen, which also allowed us to change out a window for a sliding glass door to the patio outside.
The kitchen wasn’t the only focus for this project; we also tackled the master suite with a larger shower and walk-in closet!
They wanted a clean, contemporary vibe with some geometric accents and texture. We selected a linen white shaker cabinet from Dura Supreme for the perimeter cabinets, then had a custom stain created for the island cabinets (which were also ordered from Dura Supreme). The floating shelves were stained to match the island, we selected one of the concrete countertop finishes from Caesarstone, and the homeowners selected a marble slab for the island.
The homeowners designed a fun detail for the side of the island, and we echoed the new barn door pattern that’s seen from the kitchen on the back side of the island. The contractor custom-made these details and gave the kitchen a fun accent! The bathroom leans a little more to the contemporary side with one of Dura Supreme’s slab door and drawer combos and opens towel storage beneath the sink. The stain adds richness to the simple monochromatic palette.
