Get inspired for your home’s storage capabilities with these open shelve options!

Open shelves are all the rage these days (even in the earthquake state of California). There are so many fun ways to incorporate them into your home, either for storage or to display a few of your favorite things - and there’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to do it, so let’s look at a few fun options, shall we?

Starting with this subtle contrast of a warm wood shelf against the white wall cabinets - adds a little interest and allows for a fun display area, but this kitchen still has plenty of wall cabinetry for the dishes you don’t want to show off!

Maybe you want to add interest to your wall cabinetry or need to accommodate for a ceiling beam (like we did here) - just a couple open shelves can add a fun twist!

Or create some contrast and easy access for the dishes you often use! In this kitchen, the base cabinets and wall cabinets store pretty much everything, but the 60” long open shelves look great with coordinated dishes that are used the most often. The darker stain adds a nice contrast to the white subway tile and very soft gray cabinets but matches the island.

Open shelves aren’t just for kitchens! These bathrooms have plenty of storage but have incorporated open shelving options for towels. If you’re looking for that ‘spa’ feeling, this is a key component!

You don’t have to be a neat freak to enjoy open shelves. No matter what your style is or how much storage you need, I’m sure we can find a way to give you a couple of options that can work with your space and your lifestyle! Love ‘em? Want ‘em? Let me know in the comments below!
