Inspiring Black + White:
An Open Kitchen Remodel
With great natural light, plenty of square footage to work with, and these gorgeous tongue and groove vaulted ceilings, we knew we could create a kitchen just as amazing without having to change too much. This design gave the homeowners plenty of open space for more than one cook, a social gathering space, and of course, fresh new finishes! Durable quartz countertops sit on super soft gray and blue cabinets accented with a fun multi-colored mosaic backsplash tile. Composite sinks and new LED lighting installed in the existing ceiling beams create an ideal kitchen!
Project Details: This kitchen was already large, but outdated and the homeowners wanted an island instead of the short peninsula. Since the kitchen was narrow, we had to move a structural wall to widen the kitchen in order to get a center island with seating. The homeowners didn’t want to lose the storage space under the stairs, but they didn’t want it to be a big drywall corner, so we had custom cabinets built to disguise the under-stair storage and made it look like a larger pantry cabinet, which helps minimize its mass in a narrow space. This kitchen features custom white shaker cabinets, quartz slabs on the perimeter cabinets, quartzite countertops on the island, an apron front sink, stainless steel appliances, subway tile backsplash, engineered hardwood floors, a pot filler, and a large center island with beverage fridges, a prep sink and seating.
