Custom Storage Inspiration: Spaces for Spices

Base cabinet spice pull-out

Love to cook but not sure what to do with all your spices? Get inspired with these custom storage options.

Way back when, there used to really be one good option for storing your spices - in a wall cabinet next to your cooktop (usually on a stepped rack or turn-table of sorts), but those days are long gone, and there are plenty of handy spaces for all of your spices now - starting with one of my personal favorites, the base cabinet spice pull-out shown above.

Custom spice drawer beneath the cooktop

Another fun option is to have a spice drawer beneath your cooktop (note this does not work if you have a range-top, which has the controls on the face of the cabinet as opposed to the controls on top, like this photo). This is a super convenient way to maximize your storage. You’ll need to check with your cabinet maker if this is possible with your cooktop model.

Now, I bet you may have seen the first two options a time or two, but how about this new spice pull out? You know how tough it can be if you have your spice stacked one behind the next in a wall cabinet, right? Well, enter the wall cabinet spice pull out! This particular option has three glides that pull out so you can see each spice without having to shuffle through them all to find what you’re looking for.

The organizational, OCD part of me loves this… I’d organize each one alphabetically… how would your organize your spices? Let me know in the comments below!
